This project is for the redevelopment and extension to Simpsons Spa, Branston. The existing building is located in the grounds of Branston Hall - a grade 2 listed building. The approved planning scheme includes new treatment rooms, relaxation spaces and a spa building. The design reflects the setting and context of the site’s immediate surroundings, and resulted in a contemporary pavilion building solution linked to the existing building with a “garden” wall and  landscaping.

Core Architects were appointed to carry out final designs and contract administration on site for this project. The development consists of the refurbishment of existing farm outbuildings to form three holiday cottages, training facilities and offices. The scheme retains the traditional building envelope whilst providing a contemporary interior fit out. High quality materials and finishes have been used throughout the conversion. The project is designed and built to satisfy both Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM requirements.

Detailed planning consent was gained for this contemporary extension to an existing nursing home. The scheme provides living spaces and residential rooms with large windows for natural light and views directed into surrounding gardens. The building will link the existing refurbished dining and kitchen areas with an open plan living and recreation space. The extension includes a lift which can access both the new and existing first floor areas.
